The Swamp’d Human

Nature is the Mother of all life forms on Earth! This we very well have learned during this pandemic. It does not need human interference for sustaining, rather it heals itself if left alone peacefully creating a safe heaven to thrive for all living creations. With ever increasing pollution the unbalance mother earth is ending up with devastating calamities. It has become even more important to care for nature now than ever. In this art installation we have worked with traditional Gond art form of Madhya Pradesh to depict our subject ” The Swamp’d Human ” which along with being the state animal of Madhya Pradesh is also solely found in our state in the entire country. If we wish to save nature, we need to blend into the colors of mother earth. Hence we have shown a human in the form of a Bindi on Barasingha blending into the deer with a famous chanderi saree of Madhya Pradesh. The bindi depicts the lifecycles of human, animals and nature! If the balance as shown is not maintained, Mother Earth shall perish very soon. Through our art form, we have tried to depict how tribals in the ancient era used to understand and respect nature. Modern technology is nothing compared of their techniques and materials. Hence we have used all natural materials for our installation such as cow dung, yellow soil, dry hay for making the deer, blue color made from natural aparajita flowers,geru ( Red colour), Khadiya ( White colour),Turmeric (Yellow colour) and black color from the ash coal of a burning earthen diya!
